Media/Communications Internship

Restoring Eden is a national ministry that encourages Christians to learn to love, serve and protect God's creation.  Our goal is to empower Christians to engage in faithful stewardship of the natural world through education, public advocacy, environmental stewardship, and nature appreciation.

POSITION SUMMARY

Restoring Eden seeks a media/communications intern to join us this fall. As an intern, you and your work play a key role in the growing Christian environmental movement at a very exciting time. You will get experience in grassroots organizing and develop invaluable contacts in the nonprofit world. Specifically, you will help manage the website, support Restoring Eden’s online and social networking efforts, and work to generate unique content (such as video) advancing the concern for creation care.


ELIGIBILITY

We believe God is a good God who created a good world. Through Christ, God has freed us to serve, love and protect. We aim to do so by seeking right relationships with each other and with God’s creation. We are seeking passionate, motivated applicants who want to work with others to decrease pollution, protect communities, nurture ecosystems, and care for the whole of God’s creation and who have the following qualities:

• Clear and relevant media and/or communications experience, training, or classes
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• A demonstrated interest in environmental issues
• Innovative and good at problem solving
• Creative and visionary
• Sense of humor
• Well‐organized


COMMITMENT

Hours: Part‐time, 10‐20 hrs/week
When: September 13 – November 19, 2010
Where: Ideally based out of Minneapolis, MN but open to other possibilities for the right candidates


COMPENSATION: $10/hr
